And staff, to be quite honest i'm not very keen on your way of handling this situation. Of course i'm not staff, and if you feel that i have nothing to do with it, fine, don't bother. But seriously, this kind of behaviour should most definitely not be encouraged. Even if the related person would have been a very talented and great artist, him coming along when the voting has started, saying all entries suck (even if it's true), telling he'll make a better banner, saying we should just use it and not vote at all, is extremely antisocial behaviour and should be strongly dicouraged, not honored or adored, nor do i think you should allow him to enter. of course this is your own decision to make, but you're not really doing your position any good nor are you being very fair or just to the others.

on a side note; yes, my banner also sucks, indeed. not that it really matters, but if i had had more time that would have been very different, trust me. plus, it's 100% from scratch, just saying.

ans last, staff, if you are going to wait for vanish's banner, wait for me aswell to make a new one.

well van, show us if you got any magical debateskills aswell. hope i've made my point.

From scratch doesn't mean much Raven. Pro digital artists use resources given to them all the time. Just because you can do abstract doesn't mean you're better.

And people like Van lol. I don't know how you got "you're just a lame asshole with an ego that's way too big for your capability's, in terms of graphics," from other people because that just doesn't happen. He's the kind of person that goes onto a forum and gets immediately popular there.

If Van says he'll make us a banner, it'll probably be better than any of the ones presented. Even though their are a few up there that look pretty good, he's just a higher level artist.

This was for a better banner. There's nothing wrong with him offering a free one to us when he's charged people before. If anything you guys should be thankful we might get such a high quality banner.

You know, this is all pointless.

If Van makes a banner, we can do a revote. If he doesn't, it doesn't really matter how good he says he is or how good others claims he is. We just need a good banner for the forum, and if Van happens to be the one that makes it then that's great. If it's someone else then that's great too.

I think you're missing the point, Reverb. Van just shows up and says "I'm Van so I win this contest and F*ck everyone else's banner." I don't care if Van is the best artist in the the world. Then he can enter it in the contest and win.
He doesn't need to trash talk everyone else's banner that they spent time on creating. You say Van's being so nice because "he's charged people before." So what? Does this make the time Van spends on his banner any more important than the time the other people who actually entered the contest spent? It doesn't matter how good he is.
I not denying that Van might be better that me. Does that give him the right to be a dick?

I must say I'm quite disappointed with how the staff has handled this.

Well, if i made a banner with dedication just to have a random guy to say something like 'omg mine will obv be better, just use it when im done lol' i would take it as an insult.
What Van said does really shows how, i'll say, immature he can be sometimes.
He wrote that comment like 4 days ago and i don't think he made or he will make the banner, so lets forget about it, shall we?
Let's solve this quickly, between Ghost and Entity, who do you guys think should win.
And no, i'm not trying to get anyone upset or anything, just to get the things colder over here.

I say Ghost, assuming it actually looks decent if we use a dark bg for it. So let him make a version with that. If it looks good use it, if it looks bad use Entity's.

Was working on Ghost's banner for a bit and here's my outcome...

Not too great. I think our best bet would be to remake it entirely. At least the way I was attacking it made the text very lq.
